Water Fest

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAProtecting our land is important. So is protecting water. On Saturday, November 28,  Crossroads will repeat one of our most popular family programs, WaterFest, because, as we all know,  Water Is Precious.
We held our first WaterFest in 2007 when our guest speaker was Professor Bassam Shakhashiri from UW-Madison. He won’t be here this weekend, but thanks to our friend Laddie Chapman, we have a video of his Crossroads presentation which we will screen at 1:00. At 2:00, the lab will be open for families to do water-related experiments and demonstrations. And free WaterFest tee shirts (Youth-Large only) will be given out to participants. At 3:00, we will show the video of the making of the Crossroads Great Lakes
Ecosystem Exhibit.  Programs are child-friendly  so bring the family to one,  two or all of the activities.
On Monday evening, November 30, at 6:00, Friends of Crossroads invite the community to join them in decorating the Collins Learning Center for the holidays. Warm cider, cookies and music will be provided and most participants bring a finger food snack to share. A short meeting will follow the festivities.
The first Tuesday in  December 1, so the Door Peninsula Astronomical Society invites the public to attend  their monthly meeting at 7:00 at the Stonecipher Astronomy Center, 2200 Utah Street in Sturgeon Bay. Mike Egan will present the lecture: “The Aging of the Universe” and Dave Udell will share the Latest  News in Astronomy.

Crossroads is a donor supported preserve welcoming learners of all ages to programs in science, history and the environment. The Collins Learning Center is open daily (except Wednesday and Thursday of Thanksgiving Week) from 2:00-4:30. Trails are free and open to the public.
