Friends of Crossroads Meeting Minutes

Old Business
Ski-For-Free Committee Update: Meeting this week will set up volunteer training, winter schedule is Thurs. Sat. and Sun–possibly some Fridays.  Railbrook grant received for skis plus $1000 from Silent Sports Alliance, and $4000 from Crossroads Trail Run profits  allowed us to order skis from NorDoor.  Ray Stoncipher Estate gave ski program $15,000.  A feasibility study  to add more space for ski program/outdoor recreation room will be started, as voted on by the Board of Crossroads.

Volunteer / Donor dinner Nov. 17 (Tuesday):  Theme is “Gratefulness”
Decorating Collins Learning Center: November 30, 6:00, Bring goodies to share!  Motion by Carol, 2nd by Maddie for Susan to purchase new ribbon and garland. Passed
Crossroads Trail run:  Gretchen contacting sponsors.  Minstry Door County, Evergreen Nursery  and Sturgeon Bay Utilities are on board again.

Nominations: President/VP needed, Co-leaders an option. Positions will be vacant in December. Cindy volunteered for secretary.

Memorials: Ray Stonecipher, and Helen Collins memorials: Pending updates.  Brainstormed ideas for Ray’s: Kaleidoscope, Outdoor sculpture Annual hike or ski, Night hike with telescopes
New Business
Volunteer Needs for November/December:  Volunteers needed to spread wildflower seeds in several areas recently cleared of invasives, contact Coggin for information. Volunteer days in December to be announced.
Possible Future projects: Perimeter plantings, Wildlife corridor, Ida Bay Dedication, Ski/Snowshoe For Free
