| -Sharing the awesome wonder of the night sky in Door County
Crossroads at Big Creek, working in collaboration with the Door Peniinsula Astronomical Society, is dedicated to introducing astronomy to learners of all ages. Our Astronomy Campus, located off Utah Street, consists of the Leif Everson Observatory and StarGarden (owned by the School District of Sturgeon Bay) and the Ray and Ruthie Stonecipher Astronomy Building. An inflatable planetarium is housed in the Stonecipher Center. The Door Peninsula Astronomical Society www.doorastronomy.org holds monthly meetings at 7:00 PM on the first Tuesday of each month at the Stonecipher Center, and the organization frequently opens the observatory for night sky viewing. Crossroads offers family programs and school programs in astronomy at the Collins Learning Center and in conjunction with Wisconsin Space Grant Consortium and the University of Wisconsin Green Bay, offers teacher education classes and workshops.
